200 wind turbines and two power facilities are expected to generate 2,800 megawatts.
The Department of the Interior (DOI) recently announced its final approval for a new offshore wind energy field off the coast of New Jersey. The Atlantic Shores South project will be America’s ninth commercial-scale offshore wind project, made up of 200 wind turbine generators and two power facilities. Once completed, the DOI estimates that this project will generate 2,800 megawatts annually, enough to power nearly one million homes.
“Today’s milestone is yet another step toward our ambitious goal of deploying 30 gigawatts of offshore energy by 2030,” said Secretary Deb Haaland. “Our clean energy future is now a reality – thanks to President Biden’s Investing in America agenda we are addressing climate change, fostering job growth, and promoting equitable economic opportunities for all communities.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Haaland as she guides the output of the Interior Department.
- That this new wind energy production field will help boost power to meet America’s growing energy needs.
- For the president’s administration as it pursues emission reduction in the energy sector.
